The Benefits
of Aurora Financials

We are a passionate team who deliver integrated solutions in audit, assurance, consulting and corporate finance services to clients globally.
What makes your business plans so effective?

Most business plans are too complicated and don’t attract the attention of investors or prospective buyers of your business.

We understand what drives financial and business value, and we work with our clients to prepare business plans that are sound both strategically and financially.

We love helping clients grow their business, tell their story better, and achieve best practice.

Each plan is handcrafted to reflect the client’s specific circumstances, and they provide clarity and context which appeals to their readers.

What makes your financial projections special?

We look beyond the numbers and consider the non-financial outputs and outcomes.

This ensures that financial projections are based on a holistic understanding of your business, customers and team members.

Our team has been involved in a lot of local and international projects which enables us to share best practices that help you to achieve your business goals.

How does the financial advisory or consulting process work?

Every situation is unique. However, some fairly common steps include the following:

  • Initial discussion to understand your objectives and requirements.
  • Reviewing your existing materials (draft business plans, financials, market research, competitor research, etc.).
  • Follow-up discussion to clarify and agree upon the scope and fees for the project.
  • Several in-depth discussions to better understand the details, develop strategies, and agree on all major elements of the business plan and financial model.
  • Conduct additional research, as needed.
  • Draft an initial Report and review it with you to ensure that it meets your stakeholder requirements.
  • Draft the Executive Summary and review it with you to ensure that we all agree on the next level of detail.
  • Prepare a draft outline of the business plan for your review.
  • Begin filling in the details on the draft. Obtain and incorporate your feedback.
  • Incorporate your revenue and expense projections into the financial model, and explain how it works.
  • Finalise all deliverables, including financial models, forecasts, and valuation range.
  • Coach you on the best way to deliver the report and on how to address questions.
  • We also attend meetings to present the report and answer any questions that may arise.
  • Provide ongoing support, including making minor updates to the deliverables.

Depending on how we structure the project, you should expect to spend anywhere from 10-30 hours on the process over the course of a simple engagement.

Complex projects could involve significantly more time.

How long does a corporate finance or valuation project take?

For a typical engagement, consisting of a business plan, financial forecast, valuation, and presentation for the target audience, the typical time to completion is 6 to 8 weeks.

The actual time spent can be influenced by the quality of your existing materials, the level of your participation, the complexity of your market and business model, and our current workload.

Can you work any faster?

Yes. If required, we can conduct the project under urgency rates and submit the deliverables in a much shorter timeframe.

The scope of the work may need to be tailored to match what is realistically possible in the shorter timeframe.

We typically work on multiple projects at any point in time.

Urgent projects can impact our staffing schedules, but we are committed to helping clients meet their tight deadlines.

Do you have the expertise to assist my business at each stage of its growth?

Yes. Our team members and consultants have global experience across a range of industries.

This enables us to bring global and industry best practice insights to solve the challenges your business may face at each stage of its growth.

How good is your audit team?

We have a great team of auditors who have previously worked in Big 4 firms.

We use industry best practice approaches to our audits, and we are an award winning team.

I’m seriously behind on my tax obligations. Can you help me?

Yes, if you are based in New Zealand, we can act as your tax agent and advocate on your behalf.

For other jurisdictions, we can’t provide specific tax advice but we can provide consulting services to develop a plan for how you can quickly get back to a compliant state with the tax department.

Do you provide tax advice on how I can structure my businesses and affairs to legally minimise tax?

No. We only provide general tax compliance services.

This is because tax requirements change a lot, and each country, region, state, or territory may have its own specific requirements.

If you need this type of specific tax advice, it’s best to find a specialist tax practitioner in your area.
